How does the charging and discharging of pure electric cars work?
- Charge
(1) Precautions
①Choose to charge in a relatively safe environment (such as avoiding liquid, fire, etc.).
②Do not modify or disassemble the charging port and charging equipment, otherwise it may cause charging failure and cause fire.
③ Before charging, it should be confirmed that there is no water or debris in the vehicle charging port and charging connector port, and that the metal terminals are not rusted or corroded.
④If you notice an abnormal smell or smoke coming out of the car while charging, stop charging immediately.
⑤Do not touch the charging port or the metal terminals inside the charging connector.
⑥ When there is lightning, do not charge the vehicle or touch the vehicle.
⑦After charging, do not disconnect the charger with wet hands or while standing in water to avoid electric shock.
⑧Before driving the vehicle, make sure that the charging connector is disconnected from the charging port.
⑨ Before using any medical equipment, you should confirm with the manufacturer whether charging affects the normal operation of the equipment.
⑩ Do not wait until the battery is exhausted before charging. It is recommended to charge when the battery drops to the warning red level. Would you like to learn more about battery charging? go now.
⑪ For household AC charging (optional), a special circuit should be used.
⑫ Pay attention to the following to prevent damage to the charging equipment.
a. Do not close the charging port hatch with the charging port cover open.
b. Do not pull or twist the charging cable hard.
C. Do not subject the charging device to shock.
d. Do not store and use the charging device in an environment with a temperature higher than 50°C
e. Do not place charging equipment near heaters or other heat sources.
⑬ If the power outage does not exceed 24h, the charging will automatically restart without reconnecting the charger
⑭ When charging, there should be no one in the car.
⑮ When charging, the power supply gear of the vehicle should be in the “OFF” gear.
⑯ When charging, the high-voltage distribution box in the luggage compartment is in working state, and the click sound of the relay closing will be heard several times at this time, which is a normal phenomenon.
⑰ After the power battery is fully charged, it will automatically stop charging.
⑱ When charging is stopped, the charging cabinet or charging pile should be turned off first, and then the charger should be disconnected; when AC charging at home, the AC charger should be disconnected first, and then the power supply at the socket end.
⑲Before starting the vehicle, make sure that the charger is disconnected, and the charging port cover and charging compartment door are closed.
⑳ When the ambient temperature is lower than 0℃, the charging time is longer than the normal time, and the charging capacity is low. The specific charging time is based on the display time of the meter as a reference.
㉑If the vehicle is not used for a long time, in order to prolong the service life of the power battery, charge and discharge the vehicle every three months.
㉒In order to facilitate use, the meter will prompt the estimated time to fully charge. Under different temperature, remaining power, charging facilities, etc., the full charging time may have a certain deviation, which is a normal phenomenon.
㉓If the charging port hatch is frozen due to weather or other reasons, use hot water or a heating device not higher than 100℃ to melt the ice before opening the hatch.
(2) Charging instructions
①Charging method. BYD e6 has four charging methods, namely, charging pile or wall-mounted charging box three-phase (single-phase) AC charging, household single-phase AC charging (optional), mutual charging between vehicles (optional) and charging pile DC charging ( Optional).
a. Three-phase (single-phase) AC charging of charging piles or wall-mounted charging boxes. It needs to be equipped with a charger that conforms to the local power grid, supports three-phase 208V/380V/400V/415V AC or single-phase 110V/220V/240V AC, and the frequency is 50Hz/60Hz.
b. Household single-phase AC charging (optional). It is necessary to use the charging connection device (three-core to seven-core) equipped with the vehicle to connect the vehicle to the household standard 220V, 50Hz, 10A single-phase two-pole grounded socket to charge the vehicle.
c. Mutual charging between vehicles (optional). BYD vehicles with the same configuration can use this charging method to charge each other.
d. Charging pile DC charging (optional). Use the DC charging pile to charge the vehicle. The input voltage is DC200~350V.
②Charging mode. BYD e6 has two charging modes: instant charging and scheduled charging.
a. Instant charging (generally direct charging): connect the AC/DC charging connector, and the charging device starts charging. b. Scheduled charging: During the charging process, the charging time is set by the customer before charging.
(3) Charging operation
① AC charging is performed on a public charging pile or a wall-mounted charging box through an AC charging gun.
a. Make the vehicle power supply gear in the “OFF” gear.
b. Unlock the door lock switch and open the charging port hatch.
c. Open the AC charging port cover, as shown in Figure 1.
d. Unplug the charging gun on the charging pile or wall-mounted charging box.
c. Insert the charging gun into the charging port on the car, as shown in Figure 1, the meter lights up the charging connection indicator.

f. Charging pile or wall-mounted charging box setting (such as swiping card) to start charging.
g. Stop charging. The charging pile or wall-mounted charging box will automatically end charging or end charging according to the instructions in the charging box user manual
h. Disconnect the charging connection at the vehicle end. the charger, organize the charging gun and place it properly.
i. Close the charging port cover and charging port hatch.
②Home AC charging (optional).
a. Make the vehicle power supply gear in the “OFF” gear.
b. Unlock the door lock switch and open the charging port hatch.
c. Open the AC charging port cover.
d. First connect the three-pin plug of the power supply end, the control box lights up the “Ready” indicator, and the “Charger” indicator flashes at the same time.
e. Insert the charging gun into the charging port on the car, the meter lights up the charging connection indicator and starts charging.
f. After charging, disconnect the charging connector on the vehicle end, disconnect the charging plug, tidy up the charging device and place it properly.
g. Close the charging port cover and charging port hatch.
③ Vehicle-to-vehicle charging (optional)
a. Park the two related vehicles in a safe area and turn on the emergency warning lights.

- Discharge
(1) VTOL mode discharge
① Make the power supply gear of the discharging vehicle in the “OFF” gear, the vehicle gear in the “P” gear, and start the parking brake.
②Press the external discharge mode switch “DISCHARGE” on the switch group, as shown in Figure 2.

③Select “VTOL” in the pop-up dialog box on the instrument display.
④Open the charging port hatch.
⑤Open the AC charging port cover.
◎Connect the vehicle-to-plug discharge electrical connection device equipped with the vehicle, and connect the end with the vehicle plug to the vehicle socket. At this time, the meter prompts relevant information, that is, the discharge function is realized.
⑦The vehicle discharges externally according to user settings.
⑧ After the discharge is over, disconnect the discharge cable, close the AC charging port cover and the charging port hatch.
(2) VTOV mode discharge
The vehicle-to-vehicle discharge process is basically the same as the vehicle’s single/three-phase external discharge process, except that the charging cable is changed to a vehicle-to-vehicle discharge connection cable.
